Our featured seniors today are Mr. and Mrs Allen Carter Jr. Allen will celebrate his 85th birthday March 2023. Allen married Lillian Carter at the age of 16yrs old. Allen and Lillian traveled (1,635.5 mil) to California from Smithville, Texas. Wow! Talk about determination. They were determined to start their lives together and never depart from one another. Allen and Lillian Carter will also celebrate their 70th anniversary September 2023. According to the U.S. Census Bureau (Dec. 24, 2021), “Couples married to 70 years represent just one-tenth of one percent of all marriages. Couples who make it to 75 years are so rare, there aren’t even statistical data to validate.
What makes Allen and Lillian so unique? God, and a zeal for life. Sure, there were challenges along the way but to love someone unconditional, surely helps move the trials of life behind one’s footsteps. Allen and Lillian walk together hand in hand down the challenging road of life and walk like champions. It’s about shifting one’s mindset from impossible to possibilities. They remained laser focus and mastered the road of marriage together. Sometimes life isn’t kind, but we must choose to see its beauty. Allen and Lillian are a wonderful example of living life with the right attitude. An Attitude that fosters good health mentally, physically, and spiritually.
